Hello Jaycees, Friends, and Guests!

Welcome to the website of the Colorado Junior Chamber (“Colorado Jaycees”) as we celebrate our 75^th anniversary year! Until the revamping of our website occurs, to make it more aesthetically pleasing, functional, informative, and user-friendly, I will briefly explain who we are and what we do.

 

The United States Junior Chamber ("US Jaycees”) organization was formed on January 21, 1920 for the sole purpose of having its members make an impression early in life, so the development of business and leadership skills were offered to its members. Ninety years later, the Jaycees are still striving to have its members (ages 18 – 40) make an impression early in life toward their personal, professional, and community lives.

 

Like many organizations, the Colorado Jaycees and it's chapters have been adversely affected by our volatile economy, amongst other reasons, and our membership has decreased. I believe that 2010 is the year to turn that around! If we harness our resources and strengthen our networks, I further believe that we can overcome many of the obstacles that have prevented previous successes. In working with the new 2010 State Executive Team and Chapter Presidents, Colorado is going to flourish! We will plant leadership seeds in our new members while watering the sprouts in our current members! We will become more involved in our communities as well as our neighboring communities! We will expand each member’s knowledge, experience, and networking (business and social) circles! And…we will have FUN doing it! :D

 

In short, the Jaycees organization is a leadership organization; we provide opportunities for leadership development and individual growth through community involvement. If you are 18 – 40 and not currently a member, I invite you to attend one of our state or chapter events to see who we are and what we are about! Also, if you consider yourself adventurous, come join me once a month (starting in February) as I host “Adventurous Outings with President Mike”, if you dare! ;)
